Working towards SEQOHS accreditation
We’ve started the journey towards SEQOHS accreditation, an occupational health quality standard.
What is SEQOHS?
SEQOHS stands for “Safe Effective Quality Occupational Health Service”. It’s a quality assurance scheme, a bit like ISO quality accreditation, specifically designed for occupational health.
SEQOHS is an independently validated quality standard. It involves an external assessment of our business, practices and processes, to ensure we’re delivering the highest quality care.
The scheme is run by the Faculty of Occupational Medicine (FOM), which is the professional and educational body for occupational medicine in the UK. The FOM seeks to ensure the highest standards in the practice of occupational medicine and is committed to
improving health at work.
What do the standards cover?
Accreditation provides independent and impartial recognition that the occupational health service has objectively demonstrated their competence to a team of trained assessors.
Occupational health businesses must be able to demonstrate excellence in six key domains; Business Probity, Information Governance, People, Facilities and Equipment, Relationships with Purchasers and Relationships with Workers.
What is involved in the accreditation?
The accreditation is led by an independent team of occupational health professionals. Assessment includes self-assessment steps
